‘Leadership in influencing the Health and Wellbeing Agenda’

The Association for Health Promotion Ireland (AHPI) is the only professional association in Ireland for those working in the areas of health promotion practice, health promotion education and research. The AHPI are holding a continuing professional development event in Waterford and members and non-members are welcome to attend.

AHPI is working with HSE Health Promotion and Improvement to deliver education and training for HSE staff and colleagues working on Healthy Ireland and Healthy Cities and Counties programmes. Here are details of our forthcoming workshop on Leadership in collaboration with Waterford Institute of Technology.

Aim:       This workshop aims to provide participants with an overview of the principles of effective leadership in influencing the health and wellbeing agenda and how these translate into health promotion practice.

PROGRAMME

10.45-11.30am                   Effective leadership in a community setting: comprehending your role.

11.30-12.15pm                  Translating theory into practice.

12.15-1.00pm                     Principles of setting a vision and how to motivate delivery through a strategic path under the principles of ‘short term wins’.
