Individual membership is open to staff employed to undertake the facilitation or coordination of health promotion, education programmes and health promotion research as their main role; and staff whose role includes an element of health promotion, health education and health promotion research and to staff who have a specialist certificate in health promotion.

Student membership is open to full and part time students of health promotion.

Retired membership is open to retired staff who undertook the facilitation or coordination of health promotion, education programmes and health promotion research as their main role; staff whose role included an element of health promotion, health education and health promotion research; and staff who have a specialist certificate in health promotion.
