‘Promoting Health through Partnership Workshop’

Are you interested in increasing your knowledge and competence in Partnership Working?

AHPI is delighted to be organising this workshop in Athlone IT, which is a Tobacco and Alcohol free campus. The workshop is open to anyone working in health promotion or community development.

Aim of the workshop
To enhance knowledge on how to facilitate effective partnerships, which reflect health promotion values and principles.

Objectives
· To describe the recent international and Irish research on health promotion partnerships;
· To discuss the factors that promote and inhibit health promotion partnership functioning;
· To demonstrate current partnership projects;
· To develop solutions to some common challenges faced in partnerships.

A Scientific Meeting on Saturated Fat, Cholesterol and Heart Disease

The aim of the half-day seminar is to discuss recent controversies in the area, focus on a summary of the evidence and discuss how best to communicate a clear and accurate message to the public.

· Food-Based Dietary Guidelines:  What is a healthy intake of fat?                        Dr Mary Flynn, Food Safety Authority of Ireland
· Followed by panel discussion: The Communication Challenge: What do we tell the Public?

The Master of Arts in Advanced Facilitation Skills for Promoting Health and Well Being is an innovative practice orientated programme, the only one of its kind nationally. It is designed to enhance personal growth and development to advance knowledge, skills, attitudes and competencies required for effective facilitation for promoting health and well-being with groups, individuals and key populations.
 
This is a full time and its delivery reflects the flexibility required for adult learners. The programme is delivered 2 days a month IN DUBLIN each semester and three residential weekends throughout the year.
