It has long been recognised that health promotion plays a pivotal role in society and this is underpinned by recent government policies and strategies that aim to improve the health and wellbeing of everyone living in Ireland. In order to facilitate these policies and strategies, it is essential that the Health Promotion profession have the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to translate policy, theory, and research into effective action. This is critical to ensure accountable, ethical, and efficient practice.
Yesterday we launched our Health Promotion Professionalism Statement at the HPRC Annual Health Promotion Conference. It is another step towards developing standards for Health Promotion Practitioners working in Ireland. We would encourage you to share this document with any of your colleagues who are working in Health Promotion. By working together we can improve the health and wellbeing of all in society.
