Health Promotion Conference Galway 2018

We were delighted to be at the 22nd Annual Health Promotion Conference in Galway yesterday. The theme of this years conference was 'strengthening the circle of knowledge in relation to participation and empowerment for health and social care service users'. Many thanks to the team for organising a wonderful day and a fantastic line up of speakers. As always it was great to meet up with so many AHPI members. The AHPI also sponsored the award for best poster and best tweeter on the day. Congrats to Cathy Ann Fox for keeping us up to date on twitter and to Eleanor Loftus and her supervisor Margaret McLoone from Sligo IT for the best poster 'Postnatal women's experience of breastfeeding support in the North West of Ireland'.

Save the date- CPD Leadership Workshop

We are delighted to let you know about a leadership workshop on 13th June in the Nursing Building, Waterford Institute of Technology. Feedback from previous workshops has identified leadership as an important competency for CPD. This workshop will focus on leadership in influencing the Health and Wellbeing agenda. This will also be an ideal opportunity to network, and to share and promote ideas. So please save the date and we will be in contact again with further details and how you can register to attend.

CPD Workshop on November 28th 2017

AHPI is working with HSE Health Promotion and Improvement to deliver education and training for health promotion practitioners including HSE staff and colleagues working on the Healthy Cities and Counties programmes. As part of this initiative AHPI has organised a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) workshop in collaboration with Sligo Institute of Technology. The workshop is titled: Communicating for Change - innovative strategies to get the health promotion message across.

Speakers will include Edel Hackett from Persuasion Republic. HSE staff and AHPI members were invited to attend this event and it is now fully booked. We will be further expanding CPD opportunities for health promotion practitioners in 2018 so watch this space!
