We were honored to attend the annual Health Promotion Conference at the University of Galway yesterday. It was an inspiring conference filled with local, national and international best practice programmes and initiatives in Mental Health Promotion.

A highlight for us at the conference was presenting the following awards:

Fiona Brauneisen and Jim Gorman, won the Most Innovative Lightening Talk; presenting their overview of a social and therapeutic horticulture project delivered in the CHO 6 region.

The Lifetime Achievement Award went to a truly deserving individual, Anne Sheridan who has made significant contributions to the field of Mental Health Promotion (MHP). Anne has worked in MHP for over 20 years and was the first person in the HSE with a dedicated MHP role. She is undoubtedly one of the leading figures who has helped to form and shape the development of Mental Health Promotion in Ireland.

A special thank you to everyone who attended and made this event a success and to the Conference Co-chairs, Prof. Margaret Barry and Dr. Lhara Mullins for hosting such a fantastic conference.

Full details of the programme and presentations will be available soon here.
